Taming Android UIs
Android isn't known for beautiful UIs, but you can fix this. In this month's talk, Eric Burke shows how Square customizes every aspect of the UI to create delightful user experiences. Through real code taken directly from Square, we'll see how to create custom views that defy expectations.

Chris BaileyThe actual content was good, and it's fun to see the attention to detail Square is doing. I had no issues with the presentation itself. However, I found it pretty disappointing that the presentation didn't start until about an hour after the scheduled time. I feel like that was an hour of time wasted/lost. Sure, I talked to some folks and all, but I'd rather see the presentation start close to the start time, then allow socialization/networking after (which I think is often better anyway, as folks will have some common context to discuss if they hadn't before).

AnthonySame thoughts as other reviewers - 7pm start was beyond reasonable. Had to leave early because of this. Good presenter though, useful info.

ScottFriendly people. Good times. As an intro/starting the event it might be cool to do a survey (raise hands) to see who are in attendance (designers, developers, professional android, beginners, advanced, etc.).
It was a little difficult to hear the presenter... not too sure which section that comment should go in.

Christopher KrieseGood presenter and good venue. However, it was announced as 6pm start time. It actually started at almost 7pm. More than 30 min late is a bit abusive of one's time/schedule.
