Bought my own ADP1 when it came out, so I thought the time is right to put it to good use :-) I'm looking forward to meeting other Android enthusiasts and checking out their cool android-ware!
"I also run the San Francisco Java User Group (http://www.sfjava.org/
)"
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and you care about what's going on in the world of Android mobile platform, then this group offers a great way to stay connected to not only the technology around Android, but also to the people that propel it forward.
You must be signed in to post a Greeting.
"Folks, Some of you might have noticed that Felicia posted an idea to SF Android that we discuss "Using IDEs for Android development" at one of our events. ... MoreI thought it would be cool to expand this to include not only Eclipse/ADT, and other IDEs, but also cover Android Tools (not only what, but why and how) as well as some debugging options to make your Android development easier. Are any of you willing (and able) to step up to the plate and talk about Android Tooling at our April 27th event? It does not have to be one person doing it all, we can split this up among a couple of you Android gurus. Let me know soon - as I also have some backup alternatives in the works. Cheers, Sasa --- Aleksandar (Sasa) Gargenta Marakana Inc. "
"I'll be out of the country on the 23rd, but Marko will help host the event."
"Folks, The first-ever large-scale SF Bay Area Android Hackathon is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Hacker Dojo in Mountain View! ... MoreThis free full-day (10am to 10pm) event is organized by Georgi (who runs Informal Android Developer Meetup) and it is now open for registration! You guessed it. The space is limited, so you don't want to snooze on this one! ************************* The Android Hackathon - Silicon Valley is the first hackathon in the SF Bay Area focused on Google Android-based applications. It is a free working event for developers, designers, and testers to build native applications for the Android platform. The hackathon will take place on Saturday, March 13 from 10AM to 10PM at Hacker Dojo in Mountain View. The event is inspired by BarCamp, SuperHappyDevHouse, and iPhoneDevCamp. Attendees, which include developers, web developers, UI designers, and testers, come together over a short time in an informal environment to build new Android applications. We encourage attendees to team up to work in ad-hoc project development teams. All attendees should be prepared to work on an application project during the event. Individuals and teams that finish their projects are invited to present their applications at the March 17th meeting of the Silicon Valley Android Developer Meetup. The audience will vote for their favorites. The top projects will receive prizes. ************************* Along with David Cao (who runs Silicon Valley Android Developers Meetup) I will also be helping with sponsors for food/drinks/giveaways/prizes. It should be a lot of fun! Registration for the event is free. Space is limited, so register early. You can get more details and sign up at http://androidhackath... I hope to see you on March 13th! Cheers, Sasa "
"Folks, I just wanted to let you know that the photos and the video from our last event (with Danny Roa) are now available online. Enjoy, Sasa"
"The video from this event is finally available online: http://marakana.com/forums/android/general/74.html"
"Folks, We just learned from Stephanie Liu at Google about this. They are opening registration for I/O BootCamp today. Full Sites page + registration: http://sites.google.c... ... MoreThe event will be held the day before Google I/O (Tuesday, May 18th, from 2-8pm), and will be smaller & more intimate. It will be free, and open to people who have already registered for the main conference. That is an important point. Check your confirmation email for your I/O registration and be sure to enter your email address and confirmation code from that email when registering for I/O BootCamp. They will be cross checking against this information from I/O registrations when processing BootCamp registrations. BootCamp will be focused on 101 sessions, hands-on lab sessions, and BarCamp-style community-led discussions. BootCamp capacity is much more limited than the main conference, so if you are planning on coming to I/O, register soon for both ASAP! Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Sasa --- Aleksandar (Sasa) Gargenta Marakana Inc. "
"Hi Aleksandar!
Would you be interested in demoing your app at our meetup this Thursday?
We are having Rich Wong of Accel Partners and Jason Chen of Google speak. App demos will follow including Mobeedo, an ADC Top50 winner.
We should cross promote!
Let me know!"
