Folks,
Having postponed our event on mobile-web, we are super-excited to welcome Will Shulman, from MongoLab, who generously offered to fill our August 31st slot and show us how to persist our mobile app data in the cloud using a super-scalable and amazingly developer-friendly MongoDB back-end. Build your next mobile back-end with MongoDB! MongoDB is one of the fastest growing NoSQL databases and an excellent alternative to MySQL as a server-side backing store for mobile applications. MongoDB's JSON-style storage model and mobile-friendly features (like built-in geo-spatial indexing / search) make it a great tool for mobile developers and a great topic for our Android group. Will Shulman, CEO and co-founder of MongoLab will introduce the group to MongoDB, discuss its applicability to mobile apps, and show us how to use MongoLab's cloud-based data service to make off-device data storage a snap. Pizzas/drinks will be sponsored by Sarah Samuel from Technology Credit Union. As before, we'll be giving away books and other swag to the lucky winners. For the full event details, and to RSVP, go to the event page. Please note that even if you previously RSVPed for the August 31st event, you'll need to RSVP again. See you on the 31st!
