Announcing a new Meetup for The San Francisco Android User Group!

What: Learn what it takes to make a good Android app great

When: August 27, 2009 6:30 PM (note that the date has changed from the original posting)

Where: CBS Interactive, 235 2nd St, San Francisco, CA 94105

At our kick-off event, many of you asked about how to make your Android apps better and how to make your development efforts worthwhile... so you'll be happy to know that a panel of three mobile-industry gurus will address exactly those questions at our August 27th meetup!

Join a discussion of technical enhancements, product strategies, and marketing opportunities for Android application development. Jason, John, and David from Hands-On Mobile will be presenting a technical overview of ways to improve your application’s stickiness, boost adoption, engage users, and increase monetization and ROI. This will include a technical deep dive on implementing some of these key strategies and a discussion on best practices for Android from 8 years of traditional mobile experience. The session will wrap up with an open-discussion and one-on-one concept/app reviews, time permitting.

Like the last time, we'll be giving away free Android books from O'Reilly!

The venue is sponsored by Michael Tougeron from CNET Networks, who also happens to run the SF PHP Meetup. A great guy!

Food and drinks for this event will be sponsored by Hands-On Mobile. Thanks guys!

The rough agenda for the evening is as follows:
6:30pm - Arrive and network
6:50pm - Announcements
7:00pm - The start of the presentation
9:00pm - Wrap-up and book giveaways!

See you all on the 27th! Make sure that you RSVP!
