Learn about real-time app and game development on Android

SUPINFO International University (map)

Selected By: Aleksandar Gargenta

(Note this event was originally scheduled for May, then June, but we had to move it to again to July)

After some delay, we are finally on track to welcome Michael Leahy, the founder of EGR Software, who generously offered to talk about real-time app and game development on Android at our July 27th meetup.

In addition to to discussing what you may already know about the state of real-time game development on Android, Michael also plans to cover TyphonRT, Android 2D API, and OpenGL 1.x. He even offered to do a follow-up session on OpenGL 2.x - though we yet have to add this to our schedule.

Pizzas and drinks for this event will be sponsored by Sarah Samuel from Technology Credit Union and will be giving away Android books from Pearson!

A brief update on the upcoming session. I've powered straight through the last 30 days in attempt to prepare the official beta0 drop of TyphonRT. As things go it's about 2 weeks out, but I'll consider a temp code drop. I'll post on Monday the content I'll be covering in the session. There is of course a tremendous amount of material, so this session is structured as a survey including my experiences with Android over the last 18 months. In depth tutorials are planned on public launch of TyphonRT
