SUPINFO International University (map)
By popular-demand, our April 27th event will focus on Android IDEs (Eclipse, and other) and Tools.
This is going to be a multi-speaker event!
We'll start of with Rose Roark, Andreas Schobel, and Harry Tormey from Snaptic who offered to discuss:
- Android developer tools in general and how they contrast with Xcode, Visual Studio and other setups.
- Code sources of information (example code, code snippits).
- Common problems developers encounter when building their apps.
- How to debug Android code.
- Odd issues with Android.
We will then go to Joachim Pfeiffer who plans to cover Android debugging and profiling tools: adb, ddms, Traceview, sqlite3, and Emulator dev tools in more detail.
Feel free to come ready to share your experiences with Android tools!
Pizzas/drinks will be sponsored by Sarah Samuel from Technology Credit Union. Nicholas Koch from Nestle Taster's Choice will be keeping us awake with free coffee and he'll also give away a $50 Apple Store gift card to a lucky winner. We'll also give away some "goodies" from Sun :-)
Note: SF-Agile User Group also has an event this evening at SUPINFO (just in a different room). This will be a great opportunity to network with those folks.
About Joachim Pfeiffer:
Coding since age 16, and obtaining a formal degree in Computer Science in 1992, Joachim has been involved in building fleet tracking systems for public transportation operators, utilizing purpose built land mobile data and voice radio networks.
Joachim is currently with Booz Allen Hamilton, assisting the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District in the design and build of their new wireless communications and transit management systems. Burried in these activities, he has also helped start up the mobile app development effort at Booz Allen.
I added some pix from this meetup. Video to follow.
